The anaesthetists working within SAG are all independent operators and so will set their own fees. This leads to small variations between individual fees structure and depending on your insurance company and the package purchased with them, you may not be covered for the full cost of anaesthetic service delivered.
Your admission letter from the Nuffield hospital reiterates this, stating ‘Both the Surgeons and Anaesthetists who work at Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital are independent practitioners who reserve the right to set their own tariffs which are both fair and reasonable. Our contract is with you (the patient) regardless of whether you are insured or not. It is possible that there may be a shortfall between the professional fee required and the benefit paid by your insurance company and in these circumstances any shortfall is the responsibility of the patient to settle in full.‘
You can obtain a quote for the procedure by contacting your anaesthetist with your insurance details and OPCS code.
If you know the OPCS code for your operation, a rough estimate of the anaesthetic fees can be found on the WPA insurance website here.
SAG follow the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) Voluntary code of Practice for Billing Private Patients for our fees. We are always happy to give you an estimate of our fees prior to surgery.
